BOHLER GYMNASIUM ROWING TANK
WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY, PULLMAN, WA

Working with tank fabricator Still Water Design, Peterson Architects designed a 16-person moving-water rowing tank that was installed in an existing swimming pool in the lower level of Bohler Gymnasium on the campus of Washington State University. This high-speed tank allows the rowers to row indoors in water conditions that simulate those found in a shell rowing at speed on the water. Due to the constraints of working in the middle of an existing, fully-functioning building, the design needed to be comprised of components that could be readily brought into and assembled in the centrally located pool. You can see video of the tank here.
